Atlanta Magazine recently named 11 HunterMaclean attorneys as Georgia Super Lawyers in its March 2009 issue. The prestigious Georgia Super Lawyers honor is given annually to the top five percent of attorneys in the state, as chosen by their peers and through independent research by Law & Politics, a magazine which published the first list of Super Lawyers 18 years ago.
HunterMaclean’s attorneys were selected after ballots were sent to Georgia lawyers who have been licensed in the state for five years or more. Listed in the Georgia Super Lawyers 2009 publication as well as in a special edition of Atlanta Magazine, the attorneys are organized by their primary areas of practice.

W. Brooks Stillwell officially joined the Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA) Board of Directors.

Attorney W. Brooks Stillwell, a partner at the law firm of HunterMaclean, officially joined the Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA) Board of Directors at the organization’s meeting earlier this month. Stillwell, who previously served as a member of SEDA’s Advisory Council, will serve a five-year term.
As a member of the SEDA Board of Directors, Stillwell will have the opportunity to shape the future of an organization twice ranked as one of the best development groups in the country. SEDA’s mission is to improve the standard of living in Chatham County by stimulating economic growth through the creation of new jobs and the support of established businesses already in the area.
Georgia Super Lawyers recently honored seven HunterMaclean attorneys as 2007 Rising Stars, setting a new firm record. Brad Harmon, Matt Henderson, Adam G. Kirk, Bates Lovett, Jessica L. McClellan, Colin McRae and Chris Smith have each been named Rising Stars in recognition of their outstanding contributions to law in Georgia.
The list of Georgia Rising Stars, which represents more than 60 practice areas, will be published in the October 2007 issue of Atlanta magazine and in a special issue of Georgia Super Lawyers: Rising Stars, which is mailed to every attorney in the state. All Georgia Rising Stars are 40 or younger or have been in practice for 10 years or less.
HunterMaclean is pleased to announce that attorney J. Reid Williamson III recently rejoined the law firm’s Estates and Trusts practice group. His practice will concentrate in the areas of probate, estates, trusts, fiduciary law, wills and real estate.
An experienced probate and estate planning attorney, Williamson most recently served as senior vice president at Fiduciary Services Corporation in Savannah. His accomplished career also includes work as a partner at Hunter Maclean from 1995 to 2000, and at a predecessor law firm from 1985 to 1995.
